I worked on a redesign of a luxury real estate website on lanai.
officially launched in July 2008
This redesign was a full makeover of an asp.net site, re-created entirely in flash. I am the only flash programmer in my company working on this site. I used my custom model and layout actionscript classes (among a few others) to build this site. These classes facilitate loading and unloading of movie clips and images, loading xml data for copy, grabbing data from rss feeds, and controlling animation.
The decision to redesign this site in flash instead of delivering in plain html was influenced by the final aesthetics that flash would provide, and it’s fairly fast development cycle. After creating the site’s structure, new ‘pages’ take mere minutes to create - similar to html page creation time.
Hopefully this site will attract more flash work. I definitely want to dedicate myself to flash, flex, and air with additional focus on rails.
